This may be a weird place to start but that is the whole point of this blog, it is one place for me (ever the purple flying people-pleaser) to please no-one but myself.
So... now I can indulge in the pleasures that life has to offer: alcohol, coffee, tea, bikinis, swearing!! etc.
I'll start with alcohol. It doesn't taste very nice does it? Over the last few months I've tried several brands of beer, so far I like Corona the best. I've tried red and white wine, that must be an acquired taste. I dooo like champagne though. Spirits were just as awful as I remembered from my teenage flirtation with them. However, on New Years Eve I had a Strawberry Daiquiri at the Grapeskin Cafe in Northbridge and I was pleasantly surprised (my purse was a little less enthusiastic!). A few weeks later we returned to this lovely establishment and I had a French Martini and I was in love! I guess since Pineapple Juice has always been my favourite drink it was natural that I would fall for this heavenly beverage. Enjoy!
I have not yet indulged, and I don't think I will. Part of it may be that I'm afraid I'll like it too much, but I think I try to disguise that fear by saying I'm averse to drugs, which I am.
ReplyDeleteI think I have found my niche as a social drinker! plus I'm a bit vain and can do without the extra calories. As for drugs, I feel that I have been addicted to sugar for a long time and now that I am able to dabble in other things like coffee and cocktails I find that I eat far less chocolate. I'm also a bit of a health junkie, I'm about to embark on a 3 day Body Balance training course to be an instructor and I want to teach Health at High School level so I think I'd better figure out my relationship with drugs!

ReplyDeleteVodka and pineapple is a much ignored combination. Here in the UK, I've asked for it in bars and been met with the confused face of a bartender many times. Vodka and ginger is another one that puzzles the average barkeep.
